Heroes for Heroes
Nevada has over 200,000 veterans susceptible to the negative health effects of social isolation and loneliness. Heroes for Heroes is a partnership between Nevada Department of Veteran Services Family Connections Task Force and The NEST Collaborative to provide social support to veterans of the Northern and Southern Nevada Veteran Nursing Homes and to homebound veterans in the broader community.
Our Programs
One-to-One Calls
Volunteers call veterans up to twice weekly to provide a friendly visit and check-in.
Peer Social Groups
Volunteers host a one-hour weekly session by Zoom and/or teleconference as an opportunity for veterans to connect and draw support from another during this time.
